Dorothy Muriel Hayes Muriel was born in Clovis, CA January 15, 1928. She went to be with the Lord July 27, 2022. She lived in Fresno and Clovis all her life. She was raised on a farm in Clovis by her parents, Percy E. Noble and Eva May Noble.
Surviving her are three children; Bradley Hayes with Evelynne, Pam Pettice, Cheryl Fugelsang with Paul, three grandchildren; Laurie Rhoads with Grady, Kristina Hayes, Kathrine Davis with Brandon, four great grandchildren; Zachary Rhoads with Amanda, Nathan Rhoads with Jenna, Jeremy Eurgubian, Collin Eurgubian, and one great-great grandson; Chandler Rhoads. Caring for her family was her life.
Muriel attended Clovis High School and Fresno City College. She went back to school at the age of 40 to become a Registered Nurse. Her career spanned over 20 years caring for children at Valley Children’s Hospital in Fresno, CA. She specialized in the Clinics with children who had spina bifida, diabetes and cleft palate and taught many parents how to treat their own children’s conditions.
Muriel was a servant of the Lord. In earlier years she was the church pianist at East Belmont Community Bible Church. She loved to tell the story of the Gospel to children. The Good News Club was an after school club for children to learn about the Bible. Muriel opened her home to children of the neighborhood after their school day to come and learn as she presented Bible stories using fabric figures and an easel board.
Her faithfulness was known by those who knew her. She took care of her mother and her own husband many years who were in poor health. For someone who cared for others all her life, it was an honor and privilege to care for her in her final years.
Her family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Steven Chooljian and his staff for their professionalism, kindness and care given to Muriel as well as her husband, Kenneth for so many years. We also wish to thank Nancy Hinds Hospice who serve in the most gracious way to families like ours.
