Ray was born on February 1, 1940, in Fresno, California, to Marion and Dina Sabbatini. A lifelong resident of the Central Valley, he built a life defined by loyalty—to his work, his faith, and most of all, his family.
After high school, Ray began his career at Frontier Chevrolet, where he worked as a mechanic for 29 years. He was proud of his craft and known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. He was, by all accounts, a “Chevy man” for life.
In 1965, Ray married Joyce Provenzano, and together they began building their family. Though their paths later separated, family always remained central to him. He later married Billie Boyd, whom he loved deeply until her passing. Ray also shared a special relationship with Mae Freitas, another cherished companion in his life. He loved deeply and faithfully, and each loss left its mark.
Ray’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his two sons, Brian Sabbatini and Kevin Sabbatini. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas Sabbatini, Vincent Sabbatini, and Gabriela Sabbatini, rarely missing a game or event and always cheering from the sidelines. His only great-granddaughter, Olivia, brought him a special kind of joy when she visited.
A devoted Catholic, Ray’s faith never wavered. Even after being diagnosed with dementia in 2022, he remained anchored in prayer. He faithfully received Communion each week and found comfort in his enduring relationship with God.
Ray is also survived by his brother, Leroy Sabbatini, and his sister, Arlene Sabbatini. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Billie Boyd; his mother, Dina Sabbatini; and his father, Marion Sabbatini.

Ray will be remembered for his steadfast faith and unwavering love for his family.
