

Shirley was born on July 14th, 1926, in Watsonville California to Rose and Antone Brazil. She was one of seven children and survived by only James, her youngest brother.
She grew up on a small farm and performed various duties to support the family as did her five brothers, William, Antone, Alfred, Kenneth, James, and one sister Madeline. in 1945 she met her husband, Harold J Eblen Sr at a local USO dance and were married in 1946. They lived in the Watsonville-Salinas area where she became a Pacific Telephone operator and remained in the area while her husband was oversea with the US Navy during the Korean war conflict. She studied to become a nurse's aid and upon completion worked and retired from Wheeler Hospital in Gilroy, California in 1977. While living in San Juan Bautista, California she enjoyed boating and fishing including traveling across the country with her husband up until his death in 1991. She moved to Manteca in 1992 and then to Fresno in 2020.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Nadine Hindman and Husband Michael Hindman, and son Harold Eblen Jr. and wife Marcia Eblen with grandsons Jeffrey Hindman and Brian Sloan, granddaughters Michelle Gage, great grandchildren Asia Nguyen, Maia Nguyen, Naomi (Sloan) French, Julia Sloan, Justin Sloan, Karen Sloan, Cody-William Sloan, Catherine Sloan, Addison Hindman, Amy Hindman, and Paityn Gage. Great-great grandchildren Genysis and Esme French.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Harold J. Eblen Sr. and granddaughter Rochelle Eblen.
