

Bobby King Vermillion, age 94, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed away on January 14, 2026. Bobby was born on November 9, 1931, in Frankston, TX, to the late Jesse Cleveland Vermillion and Minnie Florence (Bizzell) Vermillion.
Bobby graduated from Frankston High School and Lamar University. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Bobby married Martha Seburn on November 22, 1956, and they had one daughter, Leah.
After graduating from Lamar University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Bobby worked for several defense contractors before going to work at Johnson Space Center (JSC) as a test engineer in 1964. He worked in NASA’s radio frequency Systems Test Facility, which was responsible for testing spacecraft, satellite and ground communications systems during the Apollo, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz, Space Shuttle and International Space Station Programs. He worked at JSC for 38 years.
Bobby and his late wife Martha traveled to all 7 continents and more than 50 countries. He was a long time resident of the Houston area and a member of the Pasadena First United Methodist Church for over 41 years. After retiring, Bobby and Martha moved to Bullard. He was a member of Bullard First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha Vermillion and their daughter Leah Vermillion along with his siblings Rosemary Vermillion Carrington, Hazel Vermillion Bourland, Jesse Curtis Vermillion, Bill Vermillion, and June Vermillion McClintock.
He is survived by his brother-in-law Gary McClintock, sister-in-law Jane Vermillion, many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews..
A memorial service celebrating Bobby’s life will be held in Frankston this spring.
