Charles “Jesse” Miller, age 69, of Oyster Creek, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Helen Miller; daughter, Tanya Crain and her husband Scott of Lake Jackson; son, Jesse Miller, Jr. of Lake Jackson; one wonderful grandchild, Jessica Rahm, whom he adored. He enjoyed his many relatives and close friends from the Class of ‘61. His parents, Oreste and Lazida Miller preceded him in death. He graduated from Brazosport High School and attended Blinn Junior College, then graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BS degree in Journalism. He spent his career writing for the Brazosport Facts, Brazoria News and recently was Editor for Image Magazine. He also wrote Tracking Trophies, a book about bass fishing with his friend John Hope who hosted the TV show, Fishing Texas. He was a wonderful father, husband and friend. He was always involved in his children’s and granddaughters lives. He made his family a priority in his life. Family will receive friends and relatives Friday, March 30, 2012, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2012, at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Reverend Monsignor Leo Wleczyk, E. V. officiating. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Park with John Hope, Keith Leger, Bryan Comeaux, Mike Rahm, Ricky Leger and Colton Leger serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Leger, James McGinty, George Sanders, Jerry Horton, George Warny, Ralph O’Henly, Al Day and Ricky Day. The family would like to thank the ICU staff for their wonderful care and a special thanks to all the family and friends for their love and support.
