Chris was, without question, the funniest person in the room. His humor was quick, irreverent, and generous, and laughter followed him wherever he went. More than anything, Chris was loyal — fiercely so. He had a way of making the people he loved feel protected and safe, like he always had their back no matter what. Chris sold cars for most of his life, and he was legendary at it. If you walked into the dealership, you walked out with a vehicle — and probably a story and a laugh. He didn't just sell cars; he connected with people.
Chris loved life's simple pleasures: shooting birds, stinking up the grill, poker games, his truck, and baseball.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Carol Ann Knoll and William Sheldon Bascom III, and by his beloved grandmother, Georgia Ann Willmore Hatton.
Chris is survived by his son, Jordan Christopher Bascom; his former wife, Anissa Stickley; his sisters Anne Elisabeth Bascom McCormick (Tom) and Shelley Bascom Barndollar; and his nephew Michael Peyton Crisler Jr. and niece Mallory Piper Barndollar.
A visitation and service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas.
