

David Gonzalez, beloved father, golfer, and friend, passed away on April 6th, 2014 at the age of 59. Born on the 19th of May 1954, in Terra Haute, Indiana, David was the eldest son of Rodolfo and Norma Jean Gonzalez.
David grew up in Indiana and South Texas where he was an exceptional athlete in high school playing both golf and basketball. He was an integral member of the Robstown Cottonpicker Basketball and Golf Teams and graduated from Robstown High School in 1972. He later attended Lee College in Baytown, Texas where he was ranked 3rd nationally. In 1981, he moved to the Brazoria County area with his family where he worked for over 38 years in the Pipe and Value supply business. He was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved to watching sports and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his father, Rodolfo Gonzalez. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer and her husband Dallas of Lake Jackson, Texas and Jeanna and her boyfriend, Patrick Baer of Houston, Texas; the mother of his daughters and his wife of 37 1/2 years, Diana Cueva Gonzalez; grandchildren Talon, Zoey, and Keely Sumerford; his mother, Norma Jean Gonzalez; his brother, Frank and his wife Linda; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, beloved pets, and many other loving relatives and many wonderful friends.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11th, 2014.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. and then private family time will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 with the memorial service will starting at 3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First Tee of Greater Houston in honor of David Gonzalez.
