

Dennis Earl Lindsey, 65, of Clute, passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 19, at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 20, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park.
Dennis was born February 2, 1949 in Freeport, Texas to James R. “Tiny” and Effie M. Lindsey. He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1968 and attended Brazosport College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. With his wife, Carol, he was a house parent to numerous children at the Brazoria County Youth Home along with being a foster parent too. He retired from Dow Chemical as a pipefitter. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by numerous family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Lindsey; parents James R. “Tiny” and Effie M. Lindsey; brothers Alvie Lindsey, Bill Lindsey and John Lindsey; father-in-law Royce Holman.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Christy and Jimmy Boswell; son and daughter-in-law Dennis D. and Becky Lindsey; 6 grandchildren Jacob Lindsey, Matthew Lindsey, Meredith Lindsey and Jessica Lindsey, Carley Boswell and Caitlyn Boswell; brother Glen Lindsey; sister and brother-in-law Susie and Leonard Eppes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fisher House for American Veterans.
