

On January 17th, 2013 Felix Rangel Sr. passed away at home after a lengthy illness with family present, he went home to be with the Lord our Savior. He was born October 18, 1931 to Hermino and Leonarda P. Rangel. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Leonard and Christopher John Rangel; brothers, Genaro Rangel, Raul Rangel, and Alejandro Rangel. He was a dedicated and loving husband. He was married to Conception Perez Rangel for over 60 years. He was a loving father to his children, Martha Chacon (Gerado), Florence Rangel, Shirley Albarado (Louie) Angie Rios (Juan), Felix Rangel Jr., Carolyn Rangel Centeno, Mary Rangel Aluizo, Patrick Rangel, Patricia Solis (Javier). He was a loving grandfather to many beautiful grand children and great grandchildren. Being the foundation of a very large family of 11 children and 3 generations of grandchildren, Felix was a devout Catholic and very active with the church, not only as a volunteer caretaker for St. Henry’s and St. Mary’s of Freeport, a Director of cursillo, a lector of the Catholic Church and a volunteer bus driver for many young people going to CCE. Our father was dedicated in life with family & church as well as a hard working person in his career, which he had with Dow Chemical for over 30 years, developing long lasting friendships and a successful retirement from Dow Chemical. He was involved with Lulac and was a union steward with Local Operating Engineers and was also passionate about baseball.
