

Jack Sorrell, beloved husband, father, grandfather (Paw Paw), brother and friend passed from this life on April 5, 2022 at age 93. Born November 20, 1928 in the hills of central Arkansas, Jack lived his childhood on the family farm near Hot Springs.
Jack was preceded in death on April 10, 2021 by his wife of 71 years, Mabel Sorrell. Also preceding him were his parents, Rev. John W. and Ruby Sorrell; his siblings, J.W. Sorrell (Mildred), Richard Sorrell (Charlene), Icee Rowell (Pinkey), Irene Weatherford (Hershel), and Inez Sorrell.
He is survived by his children John C. Sorrell and wife Debbie, Jack P. Sorrell and wife Brenda, Judy Sloan and husband Greg, and Jeanette McWilliams and husband Andy. Also surviving Jack are his beloved sister Rachel Heffernan (John), 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Jack became a Christ follower as an adult and faithfully served the Lord through the local church as a deacon and as a member of the choir. He especially enjoyed leading congregational singing in an early morning mission setting for several years.
Thirty years of his adult life were joyfully spent living in Lake Jackson, Texas where Jack worked for Dow Chemical Company and he and Mabel reared their family.
He was a proud veteran and served in both the Army and Navy in Korea following World War ll. He loved woodwork, gardening and the outdoors.
