Jim was born December 10, 1949, in Houston, Texas. He was a longtime resident of the Brazosport area and a Dow retiree. In retirement, he found his second career in jobsite safety management, which fulfilled his passion for serving and helping others. His final and most selfless “job” was as the neighborhood lawn guy.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Kellogg, and their children Saril White, Amy Fontenot and husband Kurt, Liz Royer and husband Todd, and son-in-love, Kenny White; his grandchildren Marissa, Kenzie, Aeriann, Laura, and James White; Mercy, Grace, and Christian Fontenot; and Tristan Royer; his siblings Wendy Hudson and Karol Conley; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
His family and close friends knew him as a witness of Jesus’ power to answer prayers, a dedicated and hard worker, a patriot who loved his country, an ever-ready helper with a servant’s heart, a funny guy who loved a good joke, and a loyal friend who never met a stranger. He was fiercely proud of his wife, whom he loved and supported with his whole heart.
Visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22, at Willow Church, 200 Willow Drive, Lake Jackson, TX with services immediately following at 4:15 p.m.
