Jerrel married his High School sweetheart, Mary Lou Crosson on November 1, 1959.
During his teenage years he loved to race and had one of the fastest 57 Chevy impalas in the Sweeny area, he sold his beloved Impala to pay the hospital bill when his oldest son Jeff was born.
Jerrel received many awards for public speaking, traveled to the Holy Land (on the way was allowed into the cockpit of a 747 jet, which was unheard of these days), and even got to swim in the Dead Sea.
Jerrel retired from Dow in 1996 but was never really known to retire. He started a small construction company called "Handy Hands", that he ran for several years. He was always known to be doing something for somebody.
Later he became an ordained Baptist Deacon and dedicated his life to First Baptist Church of Clute for 25 years; He always told us he was doing GODS work.
He was a devout Bible reader, and you would often find him on the back patio studying and reading the Bible.
Dad Loved his home and would tell anybody that would listen how he had remodeled the whole house.
He also loved his Snapper riding mower and was always mowing his or somebody else’s yard, many times at no charge. He was happy mowing!
He was most proud of his 3 boys and bragged on them constantly.
Jerrel Crosson will always be known as a devout Christian, Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was truly a remarkable man.
On Christmas Eve all the family would gather at Mom & Dads. Jerrel would always lead the Crosson family tradition of reading The Christmas Story and go around the room and give everybody the opportunity to say what they were thankful for. Then it was time for the gifts.
