Karen Ann Malecha

Karen was born on January 26, 1948 in Hastings, Minnesota.

Karen married the love of her life, Leonard, on November 11, 1967. She worked for

Brazosport hospital for over 30 years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with

Her family. She really loved being a grandma and great grandma (GG).

Karen is preceded in death by her husband Leonard, her parents Gustuv and Frieda

Brummund, sisters Elma Harsted, Kathy Rinehart and brother Ronald Brummund.

Karen is survived by her three children Todd Malecha, Tim and wife Marissa Malecha

and Toni Malecha. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Jesse and wife

Monique Gonzales, Austin Malecha and fiancé Dakota Shaw, Dani Armstrong and

Reivan Malecha. Karen is also survived by her three great grandchildren Luke and Vivi

Gonzales and Cooper Malecha, two brothers Gus and wife Jan Brummund and Bill

Brummund and three sisters Elaine Brummund and Jim, Darlene and husband Webb

Quade and Donna Spiers.

A visitation will be held Tuesday March 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Restwood

Funeral Home in Clute, Texas. A funeral service will take place Wednesday March 6,

2024, 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Freeport, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Todd Malecha, Tim Malecha, Toni Malecha, Jesse Gonzales, Austin Malecha and Reivan Malecha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Karen’s name to Alzheimer’s

Association.

A visitation for Karen will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 WEST PLANTATION DR, CLUTE, TX 77531. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 1038 WEST PLANTATION DR, CLUTE, TX 77531. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Mary's Star Of The Sea Church, 1019 W 6th St, Freeport, TX 77541.
