Lana Smith

Lana grew up and was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, where she spent her early childhood and adolescence. There, she met her future husband, with whom, in 2011, she moved to the place that would become her forever home in Lake Jackson.

Lana built a beautiful home and family alongside her loving husband, Jose Robert Gonzalez. Together, they shared four beautiful children: Summer Quinn Smith, 14; Sonny Shedder Smith, 6; Slater Creek Smith, 4; and Silas Opie Smith, 1½.

At the age of 32, Lana undertook the incredible feat of continuing her college education while working a side job at home and raising three children. In 2023, she graduated from Wharton County Junior College as a Registered Dental Hygienist, becoming a first-generation Hispanic college graduate. It is important to note that in her profession, only 12% of RDHs are Hispanic.

On June 20, 2024, Lana and Robbie welcomed their fourth child, Silas Opie Smith. During this time, Lana chose to take a break from her career to fully focus on raising her children. Her greatest pride and joy was always her family.

In her 35 years, she accomplished what many can only dream of. In every aspect of life, Lana was an extraordinary and exemplary wife, mother, daughter, grand-daughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and best friend. She leaves behind countless beautiful memories, so much laughter, and so much goodness. She did not lose a battle, she completed her journey with grace. The love she planted will forever carry on, and her story will continue to be shared.

While our hearts grieve, we find comfort in knowing that Lana now rests in the arms of the Lord, healed, whole, and at peace. Her faith carried her through life, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in heaven and in the lives of all who loved her.

Visitation will take place at Restwood Funeral Home, located at 1038 West Plantation Dr., Clute, TX, 77531, on February 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Celebration of Lana's Life will be held at the same venue on February 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The Committal Service will follow at Restwood Memorial Park, at the same address, on February 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
