

Lawrence E “Larry” Perkins, 60 of Clute, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Clute, Texas, after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer. Larry was born on November 10, 1954 to Lawrence E Perkins, Sr. and Mary Ann Perkins in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Larry proudly served in the US Army. He loved going to the beach, working with his hands and enjoyed being with his family. Before suffering a stroke 12 years ago he enjoyed a career as a cross-country truck driver for J.B. Hunt.
He is survived by his sisters, Connie Sue and husband Ed Beyer of Danevang, TX; Cecile Marie and husband James Grams of West Columbia, TX, his brother, Tom and wife Suzan Allman of Galveston, TX and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Perkins & Mary Ann Allman, step-father, Ralph Allman, step-mother, Inez Perkins, and sister, Patsie Edge.
The family will honor him with a gathering, and will be receiving friends at Restwood Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Cancer Society or bring a toy to donate for Toys for Tots. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Woodlake Nursing Center ( Larry’s extended family) & A-Med Community Hospice for their special care.
