Lee Roy Jurries, age 88, of Richwood, Texas died January 11, 2013. He was born in Brenham, Texas on June 13, 1924 to Henry and Emma Ottmer Jurries. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He retired from Dow Chemical in 1980 after 34 years of service. Lee Roy was a great man who exhibited extraordinary qualities throughout his whole life. He was devoted to his family and they were to him. His grandchildren will never forget his sense of humor, his practical jokes and his unconditional love. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lillian; brothers, Archie, Clifford and Elton. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie; three children, Jimmy Jurries (Betty Jo) of Lake Jackson, Garry Jurries (Pam) of Angleton, Rhonda Tiller (Terry) of Richwood; five grandchildren, JoBeth Williams, James Jurries, Melissa Tiller, Blake Tiller, Katie Jurries; four great grandchildren, Hannah Williams, Jaxon Bullard, Jase Bullard, Mason Tiller as well as a host of nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
