Marlene Brimage Collier

Marlene Collier, of Lake Jackson, was born January 9, 1942 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Talbert Coy and Cleo Charlene Adkins Brimage and died peacefully, October 23, 2010 at her home in Lake Jackson, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 68 years. She married Burnell Loren "Sonnie" Collier on September 3, 1960 in Jones Creek. They just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. She was so proud of that achievement. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked with her flowers, was active in her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting activities, going to as many ball games as possible. She bowled for many years and she and her mother bowled together for years. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and she worked her puzzles; crossword, word search and jig saw. She loved her dogs, Candy and Minnie! She is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Charlene Brimage of Lake Jackson; her husband, B. L. "Sonnie" Collier of Lake Jackson; her son, Rick Collier and his wife Kimberly of Tyler, Texas; daughters, Regina Collier and Eugina Collier of Lake Jackson; brother, Gary Brimage and his wife Lisa of West Columbia and grandchildren, Kerri Wade, Kobi Hendrix, Krystn Holladay and Shelby Lynn Collier. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, October 27, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 28, 2010 in the Restwood Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott McKay officiating. Entombment will follow in the Restwood Memorial Park Mausoleum with Leon Morris, Melton Adkins, Billy Ray Adkins, Tim Holladay, Tommy Odom and Kevin Wade serving as pallbearers.
