Rosa Maria (Chavez) Leija

Rosa Maria Leija of Freeport was born March 3, 1956 to Sebastian Chavez and Maria Rosa Chavez. Rosa went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2012, surrounded by her loving and supportive family. Rosa was very sweet person humble in many ways. She was known for her hospitality and generosity as she always thought of others need’s first. She shared her generosity to many in our community by giving her time and resources to helping people with clothing alterations, wedding/event planning and catering, with her business “Creations By Rosa”, for more than ten years. Her generosity and hospitality was shared with her Church in many ways as used her resources whenever she was called upon to help reach the community with the gospel. She leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband Antonio R. Leija; her children, Marco Antonio Leija and wife Angela, Erica Leija-Martinez and husband Agustin, Maria Leija-Macedo and husband Jose Jr., Luis Dario Leija and wife Brittinee; grandchildren; Daniel Leija, Gabriela Leija, Michael Martinez, Ariana Leija, Matthew Martinez, Luke Leija, Aaron Martinez and Olivia Leija; great grandchildren; Isaiah Daniel Leija and Zaiden Lucas Leija; Sisters, Maria De Los Angles, Maria Guadalupe Chavez; brothers, Alvino Chavez, Thomas Chavez and Israel Chavez. She is preceded in death by her mother Maria Rosa Chavez; Brother Octavio Chavez and sister Martha Chavez.Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Brazosport Christian Center in Clute, Texas with Pastor Cedric Johnson and Reverend Rogelio Rivera officiating.
