Stephanie Denise Simmons

Stephanie was born June 21st, 1967 in Augusta, Georgia to Jonny & Carol Custer, and later resided in Brazoria County. She graduated Brazosport High School, Class of 1985 and shortly after became a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

In her 28yrs of nursing, Stephanie has tremendously touched the lives of so many people. Whether it was her co-workers, family members or her patients, people raved about the amazing person she was inside and out. She loved to help others, it was her passion and you can safely say it was highly reflected in her work.

More than anything, Stephanie loved being a gammie (grandmother) Her two grandsons were her pride and joy and without a doubt spoiled them until her final days. Stephanie also loved the beach ever since her childhood and enjoyed taking her grandsons often.

Stephanie is survived by her children (Braisly & Domenieco Payton, Brenton Simmons, Brittany Simmons) Brother & Sister (Clifton & Lisa Custer, Rachel & Randy Smith) Uncle (Jerome Sr. & Lynne Emmel) Cousins (Jerome & Stephanie Emmel, Jacob & Angeline Emmel, Amy & Trey McAlpin, Randy & Jeanette Garrett) Nephews & Niece (Marlon & Jillian Thomas, Cole Smith, Addalyn Custer), Grandchildren (Brayson Simmons, Brayden Simmons) Great-Niece (Arai Thomas).

The family would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the Hospice Care Team of Texas City for the amazing care you provided as Stephanie transitioned. We cannot thank you enough.
