

Todd Matthew O’Brien, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 25, 2024, in Lake Jackson, Texas. Todd was born on August 29, 1979, to George and Patricia O’Brien and spent his childhood in the community he loved—Lake Jackson.
A proud graduate of Brazoswood High School, Class of 1998. He furthered his education by graduating from Sam Houston State University. Todd’s passion for football was unmatched. He was a devoted fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was excited to watch them compete in the postseason this year.
Above all, Todd’s greatest joy in life was his role as a father to his four beloved children—Cole, Grace, Rylee, and Jane.
Todd was preceded in death by his parents, George M. O’Brien and Patricia Knickerbocker. He leaves behind treasured memories with his brother George “Tony” O’Brien of Richmond, TX; sister Tabatha Coker of Sweeny, TX; and brother James Chance, of Colorado and Karen Chance of Austin, TX. Todd’s legacy lives on through his children, Cole, Grace, Rylee, and Jane O’Brien, as well as his longtime partner, Yari Cateura.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm to honor and remember Todd’s life.
Todd’s spirit, warmth, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him
