Mary Jacobs passed away on January 26, 2016 in her home in Avenal at the age of 91. Mary was born the eldest of eight children in Oakland, California. Mary and Roger moved to Avenal with their three children in 1953.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roger W. Jacobs in 2010 and her eldest daughter, Anna Marie Atiya in 2012. She is survived by her two children Breck W. Jacobs of Lemoore, CA and Rose Marie Jacobs of Davenport, CA; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Mary was a dearly loved Kindergarten Teacher at Reef-Sunset Elementary School for 26 years. Mary was also known for her beautiful voice and her love for music. Mary sang in many family and community events throughout her life. She was very proud to have served in the grand jury duty for Kings County.
