

Beulah was born March 26, 1916 to Maude and James Wallace in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She had one brother and five sisters. Mrs. Compton graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1934. Beulah and her high school sweetheart Doyle married the next year in 1935. Her father James became sick and passed that same year.
Beulah and Doyle gave birth to their first child (Mary Jane) a year later. Beulah's mother came and stayed with Beulah and her youngest sister (Reva) until she passed in 1937.
The Comptons owned a farm. Doyle worked on their farm while Beulah was a housewife - raising 2 boys (Robert and Dave) and 5 girls (Mary Jane, Patricia, Margaret, Beverly and Catherine).
In 1958 when Beulah's youngest daughter was in the eigth grade, she started her first job in a dress shop called The Style Shop. She wanted to work and Beulah felt like she was ready.
Beulah, Doyle and the kids lived in Mt. Carmel until 1969. When they sold their farm - Doyle moved his family to Orlando, Florida. In 1970 Doyle stared working for Disney.
While being a housewife, Beulah designed all her children's clothes and prepared delicious meals.
In 1987, Beulah's oldest son Robert passed away in his sleep. He was married and had 3 children -Jeff, Shelly and Jodi. He was in his forties.
Beulah's husband Doyle passed 2 years later. They had 12 grandchildren before Doyle passed away; now Beulah has 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death also, by 2 of her daughters - Patricia Witsman (her children are Dale Jr., Denise, Charles and Ezra) and Beverly Cunningham (her children are Patrick, Justin, Jordon, and Jason (who is also deceased))
In June 2007 Beulah moved into Tuskawilla Nursing and Rehab Center in Winter Springs where she was an active member until she passed. She was a very vocal member of the Song Birds and Resident Council. She enjoyed friends at meal times in the Dining Room. She played Bingo, Horseracing, Ring Toss and Dominoes. Every morning she participated in Activities in the Morning's Exercise and Sing-a-longs. One year she was crowned Queen for Valentine's Day. She also insisted on going to church every Sunday. She used to say "I'm so busy, I don't have time to read much".
There will be a visitation Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 11:00am till 12:00 with a Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, Cocoa, Florida.
