Clementine (Tina) A. Scoles went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey on July 1, 1927, to Joseph G. and Marie De Torre Siciliano who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her Husband Lester E. Scoles; her Brothers Joseph Siciliano, Jr., and Vincent Siciliano; and her Sister Sally Chaney. Tina is survived by her Sons Joseph, Robert (Felicia), and Richard (Jamie) all of Cocoa, Florida.
A first-generation American Daughter of two Italian emigrants, Tina met her husband Lester at an Army dance she attended with her sister Sally. After Lester’s service for the Army in Alaska, he and Tina were married on June 25, 1955. They lived in Lawton, Oklahoma where their first son Joseph was born in 1956. While Lester was establishing a home for their growing family in Cocoa, Florida, Tina stayed with her parents in Matawan, New Jersey where their second son Robert was born in 1958. After Tina and the boys joined Lester in Florida, they moved into their own home in the City of Cocoa where many of Lester’s Space Center co-workers were also buying homes. Their third son Richard was born in 1961 in Rockledge.
Tina worked at home raising their three sons while Lester was working at the Space Center helping to advance the American Space Program. Tina and Lester raised their family to be of service to others and to love others as they were loved by volunteering as leaders in the Brevard County Sherriff’s Junior Deputy program, the Boy Scouts of America’s Cub and Boy Scout programs, the March of Dimes, were active members of Cocoa Presbyterian Church, and servant volunteers at the Sharing Center of Central Brevard.
Tina and Lester instilled a strong sense of family ties by taking the whole family on annual summer car trips to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to visit the Scoles’s and Matawan, New Jersey to visit the Siciliano’s.
After raising their three boys, Tina provided after school care for church families and worked as a teacher in the Cocoa Presbyterian Church Childcare Center. After Lester retired from the Space Center, Tina and he volunteered with the Sharing Center of Central Brevard, a local nonprofit that provides basic needs assistance to Central Brevard residents that is supported by their church. Tina served at Cocoa Presbyterian Church as a member of the Choir, through the Women’s Circles, and by filling-in at the church office as needed.
There will be a viewing at 10 AM Saturday, February 19th followed by a funeral service at 11 AM, both at Cocoa Presbyterian Church, 1404 Dixon Blvd., Cocoa, FL 32922. Interment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park, at 320 Spring Street, Cocoa, FL 32927.
