Hi Uncle Eddie,

I tried to view your service long distance but couldn't due to some technical issues. No worries, I called and left a message.  As I sit here, listening to my music, looking at the photos, I can't help smiling , chuckling at some of them. I especially love those with you, Aunt Bev, Mommy and Aunt Hya. They spark so many memories of funny interactions through the years as I was growing up.  And yikes, as I look back at my younger self, I'm admitting I kinda feel a bit old😁, I'll get over it. Mommy used to say "Age was only a number, it was how you feel that matters" You, however, my dear uncle, you aged gracefully (I know you will like hearing me say that😏). 

My eyes got misty reading the wonderful tributes in your honor. Wonderful memories..I was just recalling our Maui trip, we (you, Aunt Bev,and me) were visiting the crater and in awe of it beauty. I decided I needed to get as close to the edge as possible to take some pictures (way before I developed vertigo,lol). You didn't hesitate to assist me and held me securely by the waistband of my shorts as I leant over the railing to get my shots. Aunt Bev stood nearby as this scene unfolded. My Dad would have strangled me and maybe Wayne...but not you...you held on tight. Those pictures came out so well and you even picked out your favorites.  I later surprised you with a couple of them enlarged and framed.   You immediately hung them up in your computer room. I often think of our trips together and sometimes felt bad, I mean, 2 girls, Aunt Bev and me, then you, sometimes you'd look at us, shake your head, sort of laugh, saying "you two are definitely related" you were being nice, right? Despite our antics that began when we were all much younger, me being a child.  Bob Marley said,
"The greatness of a man is not how much wealth he acquires. But his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively."

Rest my dear uncle, my big brother, my friend.  Rest well, you are Home. Your Debs




To be absent from the body is to be present with GOD for those who believe. 
     To Beverly, Dion and all of Edmond siblings. Please accept my sincere condolences on our loss 
       Edman and I went to school in Bethel Town where we passed the scholarship and went to STETHS. We were always in touch until we graduated.  
         We were out of touch until one day my family and I was visiting at home in Cedar Grove and Edman and Bev paid us a visit. 
This was a blessed and happy day that will remain with us. I also remember days at Mass Hen and Miss Esmie House as a boy, breaking bread at that beautiful table.  
    The LORD giveth and the LORD taketh,blessed is his holy name. 
      Life goes on, let us take time to reflect and to see what we can do to carry on with less regrets.

So long Eddie. May your soul Rest In Peace. You were always a quiet and thoughtful guy. You married my cousin Bev and right away you were OK by me. You were thoughtful enough to attend a wake for my brother Ken and made the trip to be at my brother Keith’s memorial service. That meant a lot to me and the family. Our last memorable meeting was 2019 Christmas dinner at our place in Fort Pierce Florida. Covid-19 came along and we never met again. I’m sorry I never got to fly with you. Rest In Peace. Till we meet again.


I was so very sadden to hear from your wife of your passing.  I live across the street from you both.  Although I did not know you as well as Beverly, you were always kind and always offered a wave hello.  I do remember one year we had a bad hurricane and our power was out for over a week,  you had power and allowed us to run an extension cord from our house all the way across to yours to allow us a bit of comfort by running a fan in this Florida heat.  It made a great deal of difference more than I am sure your realized.  May God comfort your family at this very difficult time.

Dear Family: 

We are sadden to hear of Eddie's passing and wanted you to know that all of you and families are in our prayers. We spent many, many fond years as neighbors on Albin Street and watched Dion grow into a fine young man. You have always been our special friends, as you were with us when Charlie passed so suddenly 19 years ago. We cherish all the adventures he and Ed had with the space shuttle program and know that both are in Heaven and sharing their stories. Ed will always be remembered. In friendship, Sam and Valerie and Families.

To the Hayle Family:

I could not wait to come to your house to help prepare the food for the chickens and to  get your mothers pancakes.  She made the best pancakes.   We will miss you and may you rest in peace.   The world lost a gentle soul.

Dearest Brother, As your big sister i cannot believe i am writing
this for you i always thought it would be the other way around.
You left so unexpectedly, i ask myself why life has to be so cruel,
Why! Why! but God knows best and we have to trust his ways,
his ways are not ours nor ours his.
I miss you Bro. Oh i wish someone would wake me up from this nightmare and the phone would ring and it would be you singing

It is difficult for me to write this and hard to wrap my head around the fact that I won't see you again. I have been thinking of the words to write that would do justice to the respect and admiration I have for you. Our interactions, your kindness and lovingness were impactful on my life and I will cherish every moment. You are a stalwart and an inspiration to others, and I am glad that I had the blessing of knowing you. I remember all your visits to Jamaica, the road trips and 'tours' of the areas; yours and Aunt Bev's hospitality when I visited your home, your well wishes on my wedding/ marriage(even though you could not be here) and on the birth of my son (I wish you could have met him). Uncle Edmond , I wish I had the chance to see you even one more time if just to tell you how much you are appreciated and loved. 

To Aunt Bev and Dion, I cannot imagine your pain and what you are going through, you have my deepest and sincerest condolences. To his brothers and sisters, my uncles and aunts, my sympathies are with you... Uncle Edmond, I believe, did a commendable job as the family patriarch. 
Be assured of the fact that while he is not physically here with us, his legacy will live on through all of you and he will never be forgotten.

I remember Edmond  when he was shooting woodpeckers and hawks in the country with a shot gun. Decades later he attended my wedding in Rochester, NY. Walk good my Brother.

Dear Bro Hutty, As I write this  memory of you, my heart is so sorrowful, I can hardly see through my tears, I remember the days when we use to run barefooted through the common to  put the calves in the paddock, when we set the fence on fire trying to get rid of termites and we patch it up so well and hope our father would not see it,so many fond memories, I miss you my brother, Gone too soon, but God knows best.  We shall meet again,The conquering Lion of Judah overcome the grave,and we will rise again. To Bev,Dion, and all my Siblings, take comfort in Jesus's words, " My Peace I leave with You,MyPeace I give unto you:not as the world giveth, Give I unto you.Let not your heart be troubled,neither let it be afraid. My dear Brother, 
Even as I am writing this I hope I will wake up and find it has all been a bad dream. That I will see your text "Rhino how you so quiet"
You have always been there for us and in my mind you always would be. Alas that is not the case. 
I always look forward to the times you would come home. and also visiting with you and Bev. 
You took up Daddy's  mantle and never shirked any responsibility. You were one in a million. No one can ever fill the void you have left behind.
As I reminisce on the past my heart breaks and I can't hold back the tears. But I know that a brighter day will dawn when we all will be reunited and there will be no more grieving
So to Bev , Dion , my siblings  and all family members let us not grieve as those without hope, but hold fast to the promise that one day all tears will be wiped away .Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. 
So sleep and take your rest until then.

How my heart  broke  when  I heard those words that you had gone in an accident. I  hoped it was a bad dream. You were always there for us. You filled the void that Daddy left . But there is no one to fill the one that you have left. If I were to share my memories of you I would have to write a book. But even as we grieve because you have gone before we have the hope we will meet again and there will be no more parting.  So until then sleep and take your rest my dearly beloved brother .

Take heart loved ones. The Lord says; "Blessed are they that mourn for they will be comforted." My heart is breaking. My brother, my dear brother, why did you have to go? I realize this is a question to which I may never get an answer or get one that satisfies enough. If only we could turn back the hands of time, then perhaps, you'd still be here and I wouldn't be needing answers at all. But alas, you are gone and all we can do is take comfort in the knowledge that we will one day be reunited. Until then, walk good. And Eddie, nuff respect. You were deeply loved and until we meet again, you will be dearly missed.

Eds my dearest sweetest brother  I am so so sorry that you have left and so sudden and unexpected I didn't see this coming at all but it did so all I can do is carry your love in my heart and take comfort in the hope of the resurrection and that we will meet again. I know our bond ran deep all I had to do was to take up my phone to send him a text and right at that moment a text comes in from him so I know we had a real deep connection. Sleep in peace dear one and one day I will see you again. Kiss mom and dad for me and you all be good now.

Our bond was strong, our love deep. I attribute this to my own conviction that you were my closest link to your father, my Grandpa, who I never had the pleasure of knowing. A man, who by all accounts, was a stalwart in his own right. You too were such a stalwart, a true Hayle patriarch. And I admire you for that and for a thousand more reasons that time and medium prevent me from listing. But I hope you know, I pray you know. The void you have left behind will never be filled nor will the wound ever fully be healed. Nonetheless, we will find a way to persevere and we endeavour to honour your memory and continue your legacy.

Who the Gods love die young they say! Even though you were looked upon as a god your self. I believed you have taken a step from this world to pursue higher goals maybe to explore greater oceans. In your eagerness you forget to say goodbye. But we understand. It's the Edmund we know. So keep on rising  and riding my brother. Whenever we pass by the ocean and see and hear the Waves we'll know you've stop by to say hi. And in beautiful sunsets we'll know you are there by it's warmth and brilliance. And when the time is right we'll meet you there no doubt you'll have built a fantastic palace for us never to part again. You are absent physically for now but your encouraging fragrant spirit will remain with us. Ride on big brother!

I had the privilege of meeting Ed when he opened his business. He was a kind, considerate, thoughtful man, who I came to adore. My heart is broken at his passing. My sincere condolences to Beverly, Dion and the entire family. He will be missed.
