We are all deeply saddened by his unexpected passing. Jerry was a distinguished service member of the United States Air Force and retired in 2010 after 30 years of service. A lifelong scholar, Jerry enjoyed many titles and held numerous degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Computer Technology from the University of Tennessee, the University of Southern California, and Florida Institute of Technology. In 2011, he continued his love of engineering, and pursued a career in the private sector with ENSCO, and partnered with his colleagues at Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral Air Station on the Space Coast of Florida. Our sincere condolences go out to all of Jerry’s colleagues, co-workers, and friends both near and far.
Although Jerry traveled, lived, and worked all over the United States and made his home in the Space Coast of Central Florida, he longed to return to the mountains of Virginia where he grew up and started his journey. Jerry spent his childhood in Hiltons, VA and graduated from Gate City High School in 1972. After high school, he attended King College in Bristol, VA, and then began his career in the military, from which he retired in 2010.
Jerry was born in Kingsport TN, on November 5, 1953, to Eddie and Agnes Noë. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Ruth Ann Carr, and brothers Eddie Jr. Noë, Johnny Noë, Pete Parsons, and Fred Parsons. He is survived by his spouse Allison Lucas Noë, sister Linda Lane, two children Kirstan Noë (Robert Qualls) and Adam Noë (Erin), two step children Michelle Dzendzel (David) and Jennifer Ramsey (Bruce), and seven grandchildren, Aiden and Emily Noë, Rachel and Brett Ramsey, and Caroline, Beckett, and Rory Dzendzel.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of science, teaching, literature, and the great unknown vastness of space. He was an avid reader, sometimes devouring whole books in a day. He could often be found resting in his easy chair, book in hand, quiet and completely content. He was always ready with an easy smile, laughter, and wise guidance.
As we remember Jerry, look to the stars, for a hero he was and there he will find his new home with all the warrior poets of old.
Memorial Services will be held in Cocoa, Florida at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home at 6:00 pm September 28, 2020. In light of Covid-19 Pandemic, the services will be private, however, the family encourages all to attend via Facebook livestream.
*A Celebration of Life will be upcoming in Virginia details to come.
