She married Donald M. Miller in 1954 while a student at the University of Pennsylvania. After earning her RN degree, she spent her working years in a variety of nursing positions including operating rooms, schools, public health hospitals, and nursing homes.
Jo An was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 59 years, and her daughter, Dr. Monica Menard, DVM.
Survivors include daughter, Lauren Pulido; grandchildren, Courtney, Conor, and Corbin Pulido; great-grandchildren, Jade, Jesus, and Cain; and son-in-law Dr. David Menard, DVM. Jo An never met a stranger and enlarged her family by including many people to whom she was an honorary sister, aunt, or grandmother.
The Millers loved to travel, and visiting much of the world. For over 50 years they and their dear friends Patti and Don Sabin explored wherever their wanderlust led them.
Jo and Don were active with greyhound rescue groups and enjoyed the company of the greyhounds they adopted.
The Millers retired to Titusville in 1994, where her mother already lived. Jo An’s activities included volunteering for St. Teresa’s food pantry and bereavement ministry and for Hospice of St. Francis.
Funeral services are Saturday, January 27, at 10 am at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, followed by interment in the family plot in Brevard Memorial Park in Cocoa. A reception will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the SPCA or to the Hospice of St. Francis.
