John left Portage, Wisconsin, right after graduating high school. He went on to serve proudly in the Merchant Marines an Navy. He then pursued his education to earn a Master's from Florida State University and taught speech. He eventually took a position at our local Brevard Community College. That only lasted 34 years until his retirement at the very young age of 70.
John touched so very many lives. Besides teaching, he had a ministry at the local prison, was a mentor to a young man from Jr. into Sr. High School, volunteered at the Enchanted Forest and was a devout member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cocoa. John also had a deep love for animals, especially his cats.
All those who met John felt his Christian walk. John's life was so full that it is difficult to describe in a few paragraphs. For the many of us who had the priviledge to know him will have him in our hearts forever. First and foremost, John was a warrior for Christ. Even with his last words, he ministered; "I am so Blessed, Blessed beyond measure. It is so beautiful. I am going home to be with the Lord."
God Bless you John as He Blessed all of us who called you friend.
Inurnment will take place at 11:00am on June 13, 2015 - followed by a Remembrance at the First Assembly of God Church - 3757 N. U.S. Highway #1 in Cocoa, Fl 32927.
In lieu of flowers - a donation to the Humane Society or the ASPCA would honor him.
