In 1967 upon graduating from Shaker High School in Latham, NY, he enlisted in the US Army where he served two tours in Vietnam as an Army Ranger in C Company 5th Battalion 12th Infantry 199th Infantry Brigade (C 5/12 Inf. 199 Inf. Other accolades include owner/operator of a tow truck company, auto repair service, Certified Mercedes Diesel mechanic, and owner of “Casey’s Custom Connections.”
In his last years, Casey dedicated his life to assisting our nation’s heroes, our military veterans. Whether it be attending the annual Vietnam Reunion in Melbourne, volunteering at the Huntington VA Medical Center, or the Viera Outpatient Clinic, he would assist any veteran regardless of the branch of service they served…..and “wouldn’t hold it against ya” if it wasn’t the Army!
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Porter Sanns, four sons, Brian Culnan (Heidi), Ron Culnan (Rhonda), Scott Fisher (Jennifer), James Fisher (Dianne), a step daughter, Tracey Burriss (Butch), eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous friends and surviving “Brothers.”
In accordance with Casey’s final wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors, date to be determined.
As Casey would say “……IT IS WHAT IT IS……. I’M OFF LIKE A PROM DRESS………TIME TO GET MY STICK AND GET THE PUCK OUTA HERE…….!”
