He was born on September 15, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Joseph and Anna Lendle.
Joe served in the Army from 1940-1945; he was a Prisoner of War for 6 months during World War II and fought in Germany in the Battle of the Bulge. During his time in the service, he received numerous medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He worked for NASA in the space program for 28 years, retiring in 1975.
Survived by loving family and friends, he left an everlasting legacy to all.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 26, from 1-2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately after at Brevard Memorial Park.
