

June Ann Barton of Salem, New Hampshire and Merritt Island, Florida passed quietly on March 24th surrounded by family and friends. Almost 99 years old, she enjoyed a remarkable life. Born July 2nd, 1926 in Worcester, MA to parents Benjamin and Mary Louise Kittredge, the family soon moved to Salem where
June graduated from Woodbury High School. She then attended Burdett College in Boston, married her first husband William Charnley and had her first daughter, Gael Ann. June built a very successful real estate business, met and married Gordon Elsworth Barton and had two more children, Gordon and Robin.
She was also married to Elmer Salsman with whom she successfully sold various franchise opportunities and developed real estate projects in FL and NH.
June raveled in the business world, forming one of the first support organizations for women: LIB-Ladies in Business. She loved dancing, photography, Boston sports teams, smoking cigars and gardening.
During WWII she served with the USO and as a plane spotter. She never met a stranger and loved people; many friends became like family to her. She also loved Jesus.
Of all her accomplishments she was always proudest of her family. She is preceded by her daughter Gael and survived by her children Gordon and Robin as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and stepchildren
A Celebration of Life will be held at Club Zion, 830 S. Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL on April 13th at 1 pm.
