

served honorably in World War II and Korea and endured 14 months in a German Prisoner of War camp. He received many medals and citations for bravery including the Bronze Star for Valor and a Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon from President Harry Truman. Lonnie retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class.
Survivors include his three children -- Patsy Johnson, Joann Edwards, and Barbie Poore; his loving wife of 22-1/2 years, Edna P. Johnson; and four stepchildren - Barbara Rierson, LaVerne Roxby, Mitchell Morgan and Kenneth Morgan and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.
Lonnie served many years as a deacon in his church and helped others by delivering Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed a good country meal and also loved to fish, read western novels and write letters and poems to his friends. He will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 10 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11 at 10 am. Lonnie will be laid to rest at Brevard Memorial Park, Cocoa, Florida.
