He was born October 18, 1925 in Elkhart, Illinois, and lived his early life in Boswell, Indiana. He moved to Orlando, Florida, where he met his wife, Betty(deceased). Later, he moved to Daytona Beach where they owned the Western Auto Store for several years before moving to Cocoa. He retired from the maintenance department at Brevard Community College. He was a member of The First Baptist Church at Merritt Island in the Early Risers class.
Survivors include: brother, Carl Newtson of Anaheim, CA; stepson, Ron(Marilyn) Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; stepdaughter, Bonnie(Ed) Sheehy of Cocoa; granddaughter Teri Hurst; two great-grandchildren: James and Jessica; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 10-11AM Tuesday, June 23, 2015, followed by the funeral service at 11AM.
