He was born June 17, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA and moved to Brevard County in 1956. He worked with the fire department at the Space Center.
Richard was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 66 years, June. He will be missed by his four children: Richard Cowan, Jr., Susan Cowan, Nancy Harris(Ken), and William Cowan(Patty); four grandchildren: Stephanie Frisbee(Ron), Stephen Harris(Heather), Michelle Choron(Shawn) and Ashley McFall(Jason); and his five much loved great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund at FUMC of PSJ.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 from 10-11AM followed by a service at 11AM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park.
