Joan G. Lester Van Dyke

Joan G. Van Dyke 78, of Coldwater, passed away at Community Health Center of Branch County on Sunday, February 5, 2012 after a long illness. She was born Nov. 20, 1933 in Marshall to George J. and Eunice A. (Connelly) Lester. She married John J. Van Dyke Oct. 27, 1956 in Marshall. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Joan was a member of the Coldwater Eagles, where she was a Past Madame President, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Moose Club. She worked at many restaurants and clubs in the area for many years and loved to play bingo.

Joan is survived by two sons, John D. (Pat) Van Dyke of Coldwater and Jeffery G.(Theresa) Van Dyke of Quincy Also surviving are grandchildren Timothy, Jason, Ryan, Linsey and Megan Van Dyke.

She was predeceased by her husband John, parents and a sister Jean Libbercht.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. There will be an Eagles service Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will take place later at the Mason Cemetery.
