

Joseph E. Goheen, 85, of Tekonsha passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility. He was born April 29, 1927 in Ralls County, Missouri to Fred and Lulu (Trine) Goheen. He married Genevieve Adams on April 28, 1949 in Angola, IN. She survives.
Joe graduated from Tekonsha High School. He was drafted into the Marines in 1945 and was discharged in 1946. Joe was a past member of the American Legion and he was a member of many square dance clubs in Marshall, Coldwater, and Tekonsha. He loved to sing karoke and call western square dances. Joe was an avid reader and always had a book with him. He was also described as the best Euchre player around.
Joe was 50 years old when he earned an Accounting degree, graduating the same day as his son, Mark. He worked at St Regis Paper Company in Marshall and he retired from BPU in Coldwater.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, children; Mark (Pam Pierce) Goheen of Coldwater, Teresa Weakley of Bronson, Thomas (Christine) Goheen of Coldwater, Dennis (Lola Rigg) Goheen of Coldwater, Richard (Daisy) Goheen of West Point, VA, Tami (Steven “Leroy” Myers) Daws of Tampa, FL, Charity Goheen of Coldwater, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, brothers; Glenn Goheen of Battle Creek, George Goheen of Marshall, Wayne Goheen of Battle Creek and a sister; Lillian Provow of West Plaines, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sharon Goheen, brothers; Frederick Goheen, Chester Goheen and sister; Jeanette (Goheen) Hepler.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in coldwater. Funeral services will take place Friday, March 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in coldwater with Pastor Harold Jewell officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors by the Quincy American Legion at the Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. Memorial contributions may be made to ADAPT
