Paul J. Strong

Paul J. Strong, 87, of Coldwater passed away on Saturday Nov. 10, 2012 at the Laurel’s, surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 17, 1924 in Coldwater to Harley and Grace (Clark) Strong. He married Marie Jones June 30, 1946 in Coldwater.

Paul graduated from Coldwater High School in 1943. He was a carpenter by trade for many years. He also worked for Ferris industries in Coldwater and Paul also enjoyed the job of delivering meals on wheels for several years. He was a former member of Coldwater Eagles, a Mason of the Greenleaf Lodge of Kinderhook and a Master at the Unity Grange.

Paul is survived by his wife Marie and three daughters, Carol (Lloyd) Newland of Florida, Marcia ( Daryl ) Guise of Coldwater and Colleen (Park) Blackwelder of North Carolina. Four grandchildren, Lonnie, Betti Jo, Jay and Anna. Four Great grandchildren Alexys, Diamond, Karee and Logan. One great great grandson, Kolton. Also, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Edward Lee, 1 sister Edith, three brothers Raymond, Clyde and Clark.

Paul enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of your choice.
