

Brenda Joyce Burch, affectionately known as “Bren” or “Auntie” passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2024, in Gwinnett County Georgia at the age of 65. She was born on November 28, 1958, to Woodrow Burch Sr. and Ruth Barnhill, she was the fifth of six children born to this union. Brenda attended the Atlanta public school system and graduated from William A Bass High School.
Brenda was an entrepreneur with a passion for developing and designing different products. She spent her time creating companies like B. J. Boxes and High-tech Pillow Designs. She was a strong, gifted, outgoing woman. At an early age her fascination to see how things worked caused her to take things apart and put them back together. She loved sewing and furniture upholstery, for many years, worked as an independent contractor. Brenda was such an intuitive person and loved to research
Brenda’s passion for video/videography, inspired her to attend classes to learn the skill, then work in the video ministry at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member and served in various roles. Her love for children and feeding the hungry motivated her to continue serving. Brenda later found happiness in her work at goodwill, where she enjoyed helping others.
Brenda didn’t give birth any children, but she played a vital role in rearing and supporting many families. She always prioritized spending time with her loved ones and was especially fond of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and was deeply loved by them in return.
She leaves behind a legacy of memories that will be cherished by her two sisters, Jacqueline (Charles) Battle of Decatur GA and Mildred B (Victor) Smith of Fayetteville GA, her half-brother Benny Burch of Brunswick GA, her cousin Sherry McKinney Smith of Dayton OH, a dear close friend of the family, Deborah Wiggins, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grand nieces and other relatives and friends.
