

Kortez Malik Harris - Brilliant, Innovative, Revolutionary, Unapologetically Charismatic, Inventor, Entrepreneur, Son, Handworker, Loyal Comrade like no other, Brother of Brothers to his siblings and anyone else that needed a Brother, Protector, Hustler…departed this world on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
Kortez was born on Friday, December 17, 1999 in East Point, Georgia to Courtney and Charkeria Harris. He was his parent’s miracle baby that survived open heart surgery at two days old.
Kortez was a product of both Atlanta Public and Fulton County Schools System. He was often referred to as Tez by family and friends. Kortez had a heart of gold and would give you this last. He had a loyal spirit, an awesome personality and a smile like no other.
As an adolescent, Kortez served as an Usher with the Youth Ministry as well as song in the Children’s Choir at Wings of Faith Worldwide Ministries. Kortez loved baseball and played at different Parks in Metro Atlanta from the age of four until he was fourteen. He also ran Track and participated in Gymnastics during his Middle School years. Kortez loved getting on his family’s nerves, being a protector, making people smile, encouraging others, being silly, working hard and making money.
Kortez is preceded in death by Great Great-grandmother, Charlie L. Scott; Great Great grandfather, Clifford Scott; Great grandmother: Lena Walker; grandmother: Brenda Harris.
Kortez leaves to cherish his loving memories: a devoted and caring mother, Charkeria Robinson (Zachery Sr); father, Courtney Harris; loyal stepfather/pops, DeMario Phillips Sr; siblings, Valeshia Everett (Demauria), Treavon Harris, Frederick Gates, Makayla Harris, DeMario Phillips, Jr, Mahki Phillips, Reese Harris and Morgan Harris; grandmother: Ernestine Simms; grandfathers, Randy Walker and Shedrick Jackson; a dedicated and faithful girlfriend, Lavette McKenzie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
