

She had only a 5th grade education but excelled at any university education level.
She accepted the Lord at a very young age. Her faith in the Lord was strong and was exhibited in all those that she met. She was a strong pillar in the church and led many young people to the Lord through her Sunday School teachings.
In Jamaica she was previously self-employed as a seamstress and fashion designer.
She entered the United States at age 58, attend school to become a nursing assistance, and at age 60, she graduated and started her first job in the workforce.
Maudlin was known for her melodious voice and loved singing and song writing. She also loved to dance, for her there can be no party without music and she’ll be the first to tell you there’s music and dancing in Heaven.
She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could not be ignored. She had a “tell it like it is” attitude and didn’t take nonsense from anyone. She loved sharing stories of her younger days and of her siblings. She also gardening, planting flowers and watching them grow.
She was a fierce defender of family and property and probably invented the phrase “Stand your Ground” before it became law.
She was preceded in death by her son Henry (John), her parents, and two older brothers Percy and Bernard. Left to cherish her memory are her children, William (Chicky), Una, and Murlene (Precious). She has three siblings, Cleopatra, Alice and Getnella, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
A visitation for Maudlin will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349. An interment will occur Friday, August 18, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349.
