

Amy B. Cameron, 79, of College Station passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at The Waterford memory care unit. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station, with burial at College Station Cemetery.
Amy was born in Jefferson, OR on November 1, 1934. She married her high school sweetheart Lee on July 17, 1953. Amy was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
While living in Oregon she worked for The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Government and was named Secretary of the year by Cascade Chapter, National Secretaries Association. Amy and Lee enjoyed volunteering at Morningside United Methodist Church. She also served as secretary and president of the Lyons club.
In 1987, they purchased a two story historic building in Downtown Bryan where they operated Bikini Cap Co. and Sew & Sew, as well as leasing office/retail and apartment space. She served as president of the Bryan Downtowners association. She took pride in being part of the improvement and development of downtown Bryan. While working at Century 21 Beal, Inc. in College Station, she was the first woman in this area to obtain the board certified business broker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, her parents and her daughter-in-law, Alicia Cameron.
Survivors include Dwight Lambert Albany, Ore; sister-in-law Greta VanVeen of Stayton, Ore; daughter, Penny and husband Doug Ross of Montgomery, Texas; and sons Lane Cameron of College Station; Larry and wife Michelle Cameron of Salem, Ore; Lonny and wife Bonnie Cameron of Springdale, Ark.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
