

Arthur Dean Bright, 84, passed away January 4, 2015 at the Hudson Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Bryan. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be Monday, January 12, 2015 at 4:00 P.M.at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station.
Mr. Bright was born December 22, 1930 in Washington, Indiana, the son of Morton and Minnie (Brandon) Bright. He married Myra Buck and together they raised two daughters. Mr. Bright was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping others through organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Twin City Mission.
Mr. Bright was a math teacher and coach at A&M Consolidated from 1956 until 1966 at which time he became the principal of A&M Consolidated High School. In 1970 he returned to the classroom to do what he loved the most, teach. He continued to teach and coach until he retired from teaching in 1991. Shortly after retiring, he was rehired by College Station ISD to be the Energy Manager and continued to work in this capacity until 2010, serving CSISD for a total of 54 years.
Survivors include his wife, Myra C. Bright; two daughters, Janice Bright Attaway & her husband, Emmitt of College Station, Katheryn Bright Symank & her husband Douglas of Qatat; three grandchildren, Jaclyn Symank Mahlmann & husband Michael of Corpus Christi, Texas, Christel Attaway Garcia & husband Gabriel of Cypress, Texas, and Emmitt Dean Attaway & wife Holly of New Boston, Texas; two great grandchildren, Chrissly and Addeline Garcia, both of Cypress, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Faith United Church of Christ and the Bright Scholarship, College Station Schools.
