

David Alan Krenek entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 82, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 27,1943, in Bryan, TX to Hugo and Alice Krenek. Being a military brat he lived in Germany, South Dakota, Alabama and graduated from Hiram Johnson High School in Sacramento, CA. After high school he followed in his father's footsteps and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was assigned to the military police at Duluth Air Force Base, MN.
David then returned to Texas and spent his entire career in Houston working in the graphics and advertising field. He was an extremely gifted artist. David quickly became the art director at Johnson Space Center. He managed a group of 60 artists and his team worked directly with the space program and astronauts.
David met the love of his life, Betty Bradford, in Houston and together they built a beautiful life. Their weekends were filled with fishing trips, hanging out in their hot tub and traveling to College Station to be with family. Many years of memories were made tailgating and attending his Texas Aggie football games with the family and friends he cherished. After retirement he and Betty moved to College Station and purchased a house across the street from his parents (Maw and Paw). After their deaths David and Betty moved to Spring Branch, TX near San Antonio for several years then 3 years ago returning to College Station to be closer to family and Texas Aggie athletics.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Alice Krenek of College Station, sister, Linda "Tissy" Krenek of Mabank, TX, brother-in-law, Dennis Lane and niece, Brooke Lane Pearson of Jersey Village, TX.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Betty of 47 years, sister, Beverly Lane of Jersey Village, TX, nephew, Kade Lane and wife Charlene of Cypress, TX and adored great nieces, Paige, Brynn, Sofia and great nephew, Joshua.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:00 am with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. David will be laid to rest at the College Station Cemetery in the Krenek Family plot.
