

LTC Donald Graesser, USA (Ret.) age 93, passed away on 7 February 2026. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 2901 Texas Ave South, College Station from 5pm to 7pm Friday 13 February. Services will be at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Woodcreek Dr, College Station the following day, Saturday 14 February at 11 am with Pastor Elaine Gomulka officiating. Graveside internment in College Station Cemetery and a luncheon reception at Our Saviour’s to follow.
Donald was born at Williamsburg, Iowa on 20 August 1932. He graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY in 1956. He later received his Master’s Degree in 1962 from the University of Illinois. He retired after 21 years service in the Army as a civil engineer. Assignments included Ft. Knox, KY; Ft. Belvoir, VA; Ft Hood, TX, Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. Decorations included the Army Commendation Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Meritorious Service Medal. He was also a parachutist, Ranger, and aircraft crewman.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, June; daughters Susan Wright, San Antonio; Dr. Anne Coleman, Plano; Barbara Holm, Leonard, MI; and Dana Williams, Katy. Son John resides in College Station. Sons-in-law include Michael Coleman and Keith Holm. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jason, Daniel, Dayna, Matthew, Rachel, Andrew, Alexander, and Sebastian, and ten great-grandchildren: Virginia, Declan, Hudson, Xander, Lucas, Harrison, Hendrick, Avery, Jordan and Magnus.
Donald was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church since 1976. After his military service he began a water tower inspection business, and was a volunteer at the Brazos Church Pantry, a tutor at Rock Prairie Elementary, and part of a regular crew of volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
