

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. Harold “Hal” L. Harke, III, 57, of College Station, passed away at his home January 2, 2012. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, at Grace Bible Church at 700 Anderson in College Station. Interment will follow at Kurten Cemetery. Hal was born February 8, 1954 in Uvalde, to Harold and Joyce Annette Harkey. He was a loving husband, father, brother, friend, and will be missed by numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother Wayne Harkey. Survivors include his wife, Lynne Harkey; sons, Matthew and wife Brachele Harkey, Christopher Harkey, Thomas Harkey, Michael Harkey; granddaughter, Alaina Harkey; mother, of Crystal City; sister, Joyce Harkey and husband R.P. Winn of Uvalde; brother Marty Harkey; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers & sisters in Christ.
