

Hank Parkman, 83, of College Station, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 10, 2016, with his family by his side. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a visitation from 1 to 2 PM on Sunday, November 13 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station followed by a service at 2 PM. Interment will follow the service at the Aggie Field of Honor in College Station.
Hank was born in Houston, Texas to Ralph and Annie Parkman. He graduated from Klein High School in 1951 and from the A&M College of Texas as a proud member of the Class of 1955.
After spending three years in the United States Air Force, he went on to become a masonry estimator and contractor and small business owner. As a resident of Bryan/College Station, Hank was always an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He also lived in Lakeway, Texas for 15 years and was actively involved at St. Luke's On The Lake Episcopal Church where he was a Stephen Minister. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, home-improvement projects, and evenings with family and friends which included many games of Mexican Train. He also loved anything related to Texas A&M University.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Annie Parkman and his brother, Charles Parkman.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ora Belle “Belle” Parkman, his son Michael Parkman and wife, Jamie; his daughters, Staci Laubacher and husband, John, Kaye Sevcik and husband, Pat, and Belle Gordon and husband, Scott; eleven grandchildren, Amanda and Austin Parkman, Kirsten, Alyssa and Jared Laubacher, Tyler, Kelsey and Camryn Sevcik, and Jake, Kip and Colby Gordon; and his sisters; Betty Frank and husband, Ben, and Patricia Doerre and husband, Gary and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend special thanks and appreciation to all those who have given care, support, kindness and love to Hank during this last year of his illness. Your efforts have been so very much appreciated.
The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Patrick McLaughlin of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Music will be provided by organist, Christine Larsen, and family friend Brad Beard. Words of Remembrance will be provided by Hank’s son Michael and family friend, Eric Schaefer. Readers will be his granddaughter, Kirsten, and family friend, Sam Koenning. His six grandsons, Tyler, Jake, Jared, Austin, Kip, and Colby, will serve as pallbearers.
