With heavy hearts but steadfast faith in God's plan, the family of Vicki Jean Ransom mourn her passing on December 4, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home in College Station surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 23, 1965, in the Panama Canal Zone, Vicki was a special angel-truly a precious gift from above to her devoted parents, Jerry Leon Ransom and Glenda Jane (Kent) Ransom and her brother, Jerry Leon Ransom Jr.
Vicki’s early years were filled with the vibrant energy of life on both the Atlantic and Pacific sides of the Isthmus of Panama, where she blossomed into the remarkable person she became. Growing up in the close-knit town of Gatun, she enchanted all who knew her with her vivid imagination. Whether riding her "Big Wheel" or leading her imaginary pet around the neighborhood, Vicki's spirit shone brightly, often accompanied by her loyal German Shepherd, Shasta.
In 1989, she embarked on a new chapter in College Station, Texas, alongside her parents, continuing to touch hearts and make lasting memories. Vicki loved traveling with her family across the United States, enjoying the beauty of the country and attending many entertainment events together.
Vicki’s deep connection to faith was evident throughout her life. She actively participated in Baptist Churches on both sides of the Isthmus and found particular joy in the special needs camp at Santa Clara Beach sponsored by First Baptist Church Balboa. In later years she found great joy as a member of the special needs Sunday School class at First Baptist Church, Bryan, Texas.
Vicki's legacy lives on through her devoted family: her parents, Jerry and Glenda Ransom; her brother, Jerry L. Ransom, Jr. and wife Ruth; nieces, Bethany Cureton and husband Paul, Danielle Wegener and husband Sean; as well as, nine cherished great nieces and nephews.
Although Vicki has departed from this world, her sweet spirit and unconditional love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. May she find eternal peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family will celebrate and honor Vicki’s life forever.
