

William Eugene “Red” Dunn entered into rest on September 19, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church.
Mr. Dunn was born January 23, 1933 in Ranger, Texas the son of Frances Alene and William Addison Dunn. He attended Killeen Public Schools and Southwest Texas Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas before joining the U.S. Army.
While residing in Killeen, TX Mr. Dunn was a civilian employee at Fort Hood. He retired from the U.S. Army 420th Engineer Brigade, in Bryan, TX, as a civilian employee. Mr. Dunn’s dedication to his country was exemplified by his military service in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he retired as a Command Sergeant Major, also from the 420th Engineer Brigade.
From 1973 to 1982, Mr. Dunn served three terms as a member of the Killeen ISD School Board. He was a member of the American Legion Earl Graham Post No. 159, U.S. Army Engineer Association and 420th Engineer Association. Mr. Dunn was also a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, TX.
Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents, his step father Oscar Vernon Silvey, brother-in-law Rev. Charles Rhea Mason and a brother Robert Eugene Dunn.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Louise Dunn; two daughters, Denise Dunn Glass of Miami, FL, Michele Dunn-Poyer & her husband Esau of Hockley, TX; two sisters, Elizabeth Alene Tucker & her husband Lanny of Scottsville, NY and Barbara Ann Mason of Bryan, TX; six grandchildren, Allyson Glass, Amanda Glass, Adam Glass, Ashly Poyer, Joshua Poyer and Brandi Poyer; and numerous nieces & nephews.
If friends desire, memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or Christ United Methodist Church.
