It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Agnes Hiersche beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and friend. She left this world on May 16th, 2025, leaving behind countless lovely memories and a legacy of love for family and friends.
Agnes entered this world on Christmas Eve 1934 in Lebanon as the 3rd of 6 children. In her early 20's she left home to become a flight attendant for a Jordanian airline. It was on a flight that she met her future husband of 25 years and love of her life, Omer Hiersche, a former US Marine living in Germany. 10 months later they married in Beirut, Lebanon. 30 days later, with great love and courage, she moved across the Atlantic Ocean to begin married life in Ludlow, Massachusetts and soon after became an American citizen. She gave birth to 4 children and sewed to earn money on the side as a stay-at-home mother. She moved from Massachusetts to Long Island, New York, and finally to Texas where she started a business in import/export cargo pick up and delivery. In Texas, her business acumen truly shined. She was a founding member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Agnes is survived by her daughters Rachelle Hiersche Bell, Denise Hiersche Jenkins, and Monique Hiersche Kusman; son-in-laws Jeffrey Bell and Michael Jenkins; sisters Sabine Urard and Marie Claire Havlik; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Rose Tomb, father Said Ghaoui, husband Omer Hiersche, son Brian Hiersche, brothers Asaad Ghaoui, Joseph Ghaoui, Pierre Ghaoui, son-in-law Albert Iglesias and grandson Gavin Iglesias.
Agnes Hiersche had a personality that was unforgettable! She laughed with unselfconscious joy and humor. She loved you all the way. And she loved our Lord and Savior with a devotion to be emulated. She left a positive mark on this earth with everyone she encountered. Her strength, love and support for others are an inspiration. She will be missed always.
