Alyson spent her life brightening every single room she stepped into. Whether it was her striking beauty, her contagious and loud laugh, her mane of beautiful hair, or her readiness to take care of whoever needed her; Alyson was not someone who was overlooked or forgotten. Knowing her was like walking a tight rope and breathing a breath of fresh air, her heart for justice would call you out or protect you fiercely, sometimes both in the same breath.
Alyson was preceded in passing by her grandmother, Barbara Foster, and uncle Gordon McQuillin; for each of these loved ones Alyson had stories, memories, and pictures abounding. She could talk her grandmother into the goofiest stunts and had a bond with her uncle that everyone who knew her could see.
Alyson was born the youngest daughter of 3 to Darin and Debra Wylie on March 5, 1997. From the moment she was born the family of 5 was complete, and her wild personality and daring tendencies kept everyone on their toes. As a child, this barbie doll replica of a little girl could throw a punch, out eat, and out climb anyone who dared to challenge her, whether they knew they had challenged her or not.
Alyson graduated from Mansfield Summit High School in 2015, showing her grit and maturity by immediately entering the work force and thriving in any position she held. Not an office space that she worked in was ever dull, or without a friend for Alyson. Alyson spent 7 years with her high school sweetheart, Ben Taylor. Her love for Ben was pure, wild, loyal, and fierce. They were like little old people in young bodies, bonding over card games, food, spices, and their cat Mac. The only thing that could ever come between them was a competitive game of Uno. Along with Ben and their cat, Alyson was in love with doing life with his mother and sisters, Kristine, Bethany, and Delilah.
While so much of her time was spent caring for others, Alyson did allow her best friend, Sarah Willbanks, to love and care for her. Whether it was their bond over a deep love for animals, or their long history, Sara could be found in Alyson’s living room more often than not.
Alyson is survived by her parents, Debra and Darin Wylie, her sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Jacob Alvarado, her nephew Haddix Alvarado, her sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Thomas Calloway, her grandparents, Eugene Foster, Charles Wylie, Betty Wylie, and her aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
The love that Alyson contributed to her family is immeasurable. From fighting for her sisters, dropping everything to help her parents, to the way she played with, loved on, doted on, held, and absolutely adored her nephews, Haddix, Finnley, Cooper, and her brand-new niece, Penny. Every single one of those sweet kids lit up when they saw their Auntie Aly, and her face told you every time she looked at them that she was in love with them.
Our homes are empty without her laugh, our hearts are shattered without her hugs, our lives are duller without her presence. Alyson was the amazing piece that completed her parents and sisters. Our little family of 5 will never again be complete. The world did not deserve her, and she will be missed more than words could ever explain.
We love you, Alyson. To the moon and back.
