

Berlene Buckingham, affectionately known as Memaw, at age 90 passed away peacefully Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born July 2, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lorene Holder Steward and Lonnie Bearl “Jack” Throop.
Berlene was a graduate of Birdville High School in 1950. While married to Finas O. Buckingham, they had Rex Allen, Rhonda Kay and Randy Bearl. For most of her life, Berlene was a homemaker who always kept the house in order and had plenty of food prepared to feed the many friends of her children who practically lived there too. Not only was she a lifetime member of PTA, she was an active member at Ridgecrest Baptist Church for nearly 60 years. At church, you would either find her in the kitchen preparing food for others or in the choir singing. Whether Berlene was oil painting, drawing, cooking, doing needle point, or creating something with plastic canvas sheets and yarn, you were sure to hear her whistling.
Berlene was preceded in death by Finas O. Buckingham; her son , Rex Allen; and her parents.
Survivors include: daughter, Rhonda Kay Barbrick and husband David ( aka favorite son-in-law); son, Randy Bearl Buckingham; three grandchildren, Cari Felts and husband Jake, Kiki Barbrick and Rex Buckingham; and four great-grandchildren, Chase Felts, Jenna Felts, Zane Hyatt, and Mason Trejo.
Berlene's services will take place Friday, July 7th 2023 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, TX 76034. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a funeral starting at 11 a.m. Berlene's services will conclude with laying her to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
